These fork extensions are made of high strength steel and are meant to used to extend the reach of existing forks. Forklift fork extensions work by slipping over the existing forks.

How to correctly size the extensions: These extension will fit forks up to 2" in thickness. Actual inside width of the fork extension is 1/2" wider than stated so if your forks are 4" wide then you should buy 4" wide forklift fork extensions.
Safety Issue: OSHA regulations state that the length of the fork extension may not exceed over one-half the length of the existing forks. If the existing fork is 48" then the fork extension cannot exceed 72".

Fork Extensions: Purchasing & Shipping
Forklift extensions are sold individually, so if you need a set, please buy two. We used to sell them as a pair, but we got many requests to buy one extension at a time so now we sell them individually. These extensions will be shipped via Fedex Ground and delivery usually takes 2-5 days. They are shipped out of our Seattle warehouse. Since the forklift extensions are made of steel, we do not use any packaging materials when shipping them; it is possible they may be delivery with a few scratches, but they were going to get scratched the first time you used them anyhow. Sorry, neither forklift extensions nor any of the other products we sell are available for local pickup at our warehouses. We allowed this in the past and have learned that it takes up too much time and for coordination. Nor do we allow shipping on customer's freight accounts; again, it takes us too long to coordinate the details.Fork Extensions: Safety
There are OSHA requirements which cover the use of forklift extensions. You should check with the manufacturer of your material handling equipment to determine the longest length you can use and how it will affect the lifting capacity. It is your responsibility to check this yourself and to use your equipment within its rated capacity.
